Weekend lepas memang dah plan dari awal “sahaja aku pegi pavillion atau ke mana-mana untuk mencari luggage size 28 bagi trip kami nanti” amin…
since this is our first family trip to oversea, we didn’t have proper luggage to keep our clothes and what not. i only have one luggage. a cabin size luggage yang pastinya wont be able to fit all our empat beranak stuffs in it.
actually last month, before my trip to lumut, i bought one luggage size 24 which is meant for our oversea trip (tapi sebab aku ni jenis tak sabar, terus guna masa pi lumut tu… kellas kau jah!). the bag we bought is in purple color from ELLE was so cheap and the most important part about the bag itself is weighted more or less 2.5kg which is what we are looking for considering the limited baggage weight we bought to and fro for this trip.
bila dah kemas-kemas apa yang patut by putting hubby’s and my clothes in it, beg dah penuh dan sendat. though the bag is expendable, takkan muatnya nak masukkan semua baju anak-anak tu.
at first we wanted to borrow our relatives big luggage sebab masa tu kitaorang pikir bukannay nak guna selalu pun bag tu plus storage issue in our house. tapi bila pikir-pikir balik, tak rugi pun beli setakat satu beg size 28 or 32 for our family because we both intended to make an oversea trip our bi-anually family activities from this year onward.
sebab tu lah, last saturday kami terjah tangs, travel for all, luggage empire and also parkson in search for one suitable luggage size 28 di mana harganya must be below RM300 (yeah, we are cheapskate!), lightweight and dark color. (banyak pulak songeh nya dengan bajet yang seciput tu.. hehehe)
so bila dok pusing-pusing satu pavilion dan belek-belek beg in each and every kedai bag, we decided to buy a luggage size 28, black color dengan berat around 3.8kg jenama peirre cardin at travel for all shop located at the second floor (next to STADIUM). paling penting harganya is within our budget which is RM295 (price after 50% discount).
kami tak beli terus although we have found one as we wanted to have a last check at pavillion. masa mula-mula pegi tangs, we just browse thru gitu-gitu je on all luggage they have so takut jugak we missed out special promotion which we forgot to ask the promoters there.
so off we went to tangs for the second time and asked promoter yang berdedai-dedai kat situ. tapi yang paling aku sentap bila kita tanya pasal berat luggage boleh dikatakan semua promoter kat situ cakap “TAK PASTI KAK.” even a person who hung “SUPPLIER” tag on his neck gave us the same answer which is unacceptable to me. kalau tak tau tak yah la pakai tag “SUPPLIER” yang tulis besar-besar tu sebab betul-betul memalukan company yang kau representla dik.
While asking this and that to one of the promoter of DEUTER brand (dia ni ok sikit la dari yang lain) a man who was looking for a luggage smiled at me and asked:
ABANG BAIK: You cari luggage big size ye?
ME: Ha ah…
ABANG BAIK: You nak cari yang ringan eh?
ME: Ye… nak ringan tapi murah…*bigggg grin*…
ABANG BAIK: Try AMERICAN TOURISTER. Brand tu satu company dengan SAMSONITE. Murah dan ringan. I bought one last week at ROBINSON less than RM300. You punya bajet berapa?
ME: Bawah RM300. Malas nak beli mahal-mahal… bukan nak guna selalu pun
ABANG BAIK: Cuba tengok la AT brand. it’s very light and it’s cheap.
we then headed to AT section with hubby and that kind man were also there with his wife checking on SAMSONITE and AT luggage. The kind man then started talking to my husband about the luggage he bought. lepas potpetpotpet for almost 20 minutes with the kind man, we decided to go to ROBINSON and forgo our choice we made earlier at TRAVEL FOR ALL .
Memang lah kerja gila namanya ni dan kat mana sangatla value for money nya when we calculate on mileage and parking. dan bila sampai mid valley, kami hanya tuju ke robinson specifically the luggage section.
since we have narrow down our choices to these criteria:
- luggage size 28/32
- black color
- lightweight
- four wheels
- must be AMERICAN TOURISTER
- price below RM300
we were lucky when we got there, we were welcomed by a friendly and knowledgeable sales assistant. i said knowledgeable because she can answer all questioned we asked. dan dia pulak siap bagi few recommendations which gave us many choices. there was also 10% discount on certain bag which is given by the company. another plus point for not buying at tangs.
selepas hampir sejam memilih dan bertanya bermacam-macam soalan, we decided to buy a black AT luggage dengan harga RM279 (original price is RM350) dengan beratnya for only 3.5kg.
masa bayar luggage tu, cashier pulak cakap if we buy for RM300 you will get RM40 voucher and if i pay by citibank, i get one payung. this is the part of me yang sangat menjengkelkan – i like vouchers and free stuffs. so i bought a set of roll up vacuum keeper for only 21.90 untuk cukupkan the bill to RM300. and the rest is history.
alhamdullilah, our search for luggage went smoothly that day. double lucky bila masa dok sibuk belek dan pilih luggage at ROBONSON, my khaleel idris was sleeping so lena in which dengan ketiduran itu helped us to make a better decision and choice.
if i have time, i will update this entry by uploading the picture of our catch of the day. with the RM40 voucher, we bought another cabin size luggage in PURPLE color!… it so cute and i like it very much!
